The Region:
Thanks to its "micro-climate", the Charente-Maritime is the second sunniest region of France, with 2,600 hours of sunshine per year. It also has five hundred kilometres of Atlantic coastline with almost a hundred sun-drenched beaches of fine golden sand in a region adorned with traditional low houses of red tiled roofs and attractive Charentaise stonework, blooming hollyhocks, picturesque ports with seafood restaurants and sidewalk cafés.

The property is made up of four gîtes all with their own individual styles and personalities. Recently renovated and converted, they have retained some of the features of the original property such as oak beams and exposed stonework. They are comfortably furnished with a blend of traditional Charentaise items and pine furniture. Walls are painted with gentle creamy-yellow walls, and there are tiled floors in the living and kitchen areas, and wood floors in the bedrooms. They offer all modern conveniences such as gas oven, microwave, large fridge and they each have their own washing machine and stereo/CD system.
All the gîtes have their own garden furniture including sun umbrellas and barbeques. They lead into a fully enclosed garden which offers plenty of recreational activities: a large sandpit, swings, a treehouse, table tennis, badminton, a boule area and 1 acre-field of rough grass for football, sports or just star-gazing! A variety of trees, including Cherries, Peaches and Apples offer fruits and shade.

VILLA MANANI AND WEEKEND
The Villas are situated at La Griere in the Vendee across the bay from La Tranche sur Mer. There is a private road to the beach just 300 metres walk away. A 100 metre walk in the other direction takes you to the shops and restaurants. The Villas have large gardens which join at the rear offering the possibility of renting both together. Linen hire is, unfortunately, not available. Pets welcome
VILLA MANANI-TWO BEDROOMS SLEEPING SIX
The smaller of the
two villas, which has a living room/dining room leading to
separate kitchen. The kitchen has a washing machine, gas cooker
and fridge. There are two bedrooms both with a double and a
single bed. There is a small shower room with W.C, basin and
enclosed shower. In the living room, there is a double sofa bed.
Outside, garden furniture and barbecue are provided. The garden,
made of sand, is enclosed and can also provide parking for two
cars. Pets welcome.

VILLA WEEKEND-THREE BEDROOMS SLEEPING SIX
The larger of the
two villas has a small conservatory/terrace for dinning with
table and six chairs. There is a living room with chairs, a
coffee table and a sofa bed. The kitchen has a dish washer, gas
cooker and fridge. There is a large double bedroom and two
further bedrooms. The second bedroom leads off the kitchen and
has two sets of bunk beds, a wash basin and enclosed shower. The
third bedroom leads off of this room and contains a double bed.
There is a separate small shower room with basin and W.C. Outside,
garden furniture and barbecue are provided. The garden, made of
sand, is enclosed and can also provide parking for two cars. Pets
welcome.
