PUPPY GUIDE
1. Know your breed, not all homes suit all dogs. Be realistic and find out what your dogs needs are before you buy. The best people to ask are breeders and breed specialists.
2. Be sure that you have the time to give to a puppy, leaving a puppy home alone all day is a recipe for disaster.
3.Many breeds have inherent health problems. Ensure your breeder is happy to test and consider the health of the parents.
4. Always ask to see the mother with her pups and preferably in situ.
5. Be aware that even within a litter puppies have different personalities, choose carefully.
6. A healthy puppy is a must. Always agree to take a puppy subject to a vets examination.
7. A concientious breeder will want to know about you, be prepared to be quizzed.
8. Take a note of your puppies diet and feeding regime. This helps avoid upset tummies when you get them home.
9. When you get your puppy home, be tolerant with his mistakes. A puppy chews, pees and poohs a lot and needs companionship. The more you invest in him the greater the benefit you reap.
10. Remember a dog is for life. His life is in your hands, be responsible.
