The United Kingdom has recently announced a pilot scheme for animals to enter the UK without doing quarantine (the Pet Travel Scheme or PETS). All well and good if you live in one of the qualifying countries but what if you don't?

Well, you have two options either find yourself a good quarantine kennels and do the time OR consider the possibility of doing the residency period in a qualifying country. This doesn't mean you have to move there just that your pet does. This may seem a hassle but if you have an aversion to UK quarantine which lets be honest alot of people do then this may be a pleasanter alternative.

Presently there are two options available for avoiding quarantine Firstly HOME BOARDING this avoids the need for kenneling all together Le Dog Stop has currently a number of animals from as far away as the United States and the Middle East in home board both Cats and Dogs. In all cases they live as family pets in a home environment. MEET SOME OF THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY DONE IT!

The second alternative is kenneling but in a qualifying country this means that whilst your pet is still in kennels it is not under the strict confinements of quarantine you may visit, take your pet on holiday, go for walks and generally be free of the confines of a kennel environment for six months Le Dog Stop is able to provide a list of kennels that may be able to offer the kenneling services but at present has none that it can recommend. Owners are advised to check the facilities and standard of service on offer themselves.
