Le Dog Stop was one of the first websites to address pet travel to the UK and in particular to undertake to inform and help pet travellers looking to enter the UK under the Pet Travel Scheme, which started in February 2000.

Since the very first dog that crossed the channel with the help of Le Dog Stop the site has gone from strength to strength and our experience has helped many a pet traveller through the intracacies of the scheme in its infancy and now as it grows to include other countries and islands.

From the site a whole new area of pet travel has been spawned, namely those pet owners who wish to use alternatives to placing their pets in UK quarantine. The business arm of Le Dog Stop, going by the name of "Cani - Excel", has grown beyond all expectations. Cani- Excel was set up by Renée more than four years ago and is a licenced kennel, and cattery with associated services such as retail and grooming. Cani- Excel's location right on the north coast of France has played a large part in facilitating pet owners to not only use the Pet Travel Scheme as a quarantine alternative but enable them to stay in touch with their pets, being so close to the UK mainland.

Renée is a British business women whose skills in animal care, pet travel and relocation have given her the ideal background to provide a real service to pet travellers from all over the world. Originally qualifying as a veterinary nurse in the UK, Renée's 17 year career in the profession has included positions as manager of both an RSPCA shelter and a UK quarantine kennel.

Today she works to provide a unique service, that has one aim to ensure that pet travellers have the benefit of shared experience and the option of choice when it comes to travel with their pets.
